Gloria Gasperi x Pilates 6 Studio

25 July 2026 - 26 July 2026 2 days

This event has already taken place.

In July, we had the great pleasure of welcoming Gloria Gasperi to Wrocław. At the invitation of Pilates 6 Studio, this exceptional classical Pilates teacher led two intensive workshops for teachers eager to deepen their knowledge and develop their skills.

Over two days of learning and practice, we explored the classical Pilates system, refined our technique and discovered how to apply its principles more consciously in our teaching and personal practice.

CHEST EXPANSION

Our first topic was chest expansion, one of the key actions in the classical Pilates system, often mistaken for simply “opening” the chest.

Gloria explained that true expansion is much more than increasing range of motion. It is a deeper, more complex action that influences muscular activity, breathing, the nervous system, fascia and concentration.

Participants explored how expansion works throughout the Pilates system, how to recognise and avoid unnecessary compensations, and how to use this principle consciously to improve movement quality and guide their students more effectively.

BOTTOM’S UP! CONSTRUCTING INVERSIONS

The second workshop invited us to see Pilates from a completely different perspective — quite literally!

We focused on inversions and their role within the classical Pilates system. Gloria guided participants through building inversions safely and progressively, showing how to prepare the body, develop the exercises step by step and adapt them to each student’s abilities.

We paid particular attention to when, how and why to introduce inversions, and to the connections between individual exercises within the coherent logic of the classical system.

Special Guest – Emanuela Romano

Our special guest was Emanuela Romano, who travelled to Wrocław from Italy. Emanuela works side by side with Gloria Gasperi at her Pilates studio in Sarzana, sharing her passion for the classical method and thoughtful teaching.

Practice, Observation and Sharing Experience

On the second day, Gloria and Emanuela taught private Pilates lessons that workshop participants had the opportunity to observe.

Monika Julianow, founder of Pilates 6 Studio and organiser of the event, also joined the practical sessions, teaching lessons with the participants and sharing her experience and approach to classical Pilates.

These sessions offered a valuable opportunity to observe different teaching styles, exercise selection, individual adaptations, and the precision of verbal cues and hands-on corrections. Practising together, watching lessons and exchanging ideas helped participants deepen their understanding of the method and find fresh inspiration for their own teaching.

Two Days Full of Inspiration

These were two intensive days of practice, new experiences, inspiring conversations and shared learning. Working with Gloria and Emanuela allowed us to look at familiar exercises from a fresh perspective and gain a deeper understanding of the method we work with every day.

Thank you to Gloria and Emanuela for your generosity, knowledge, energy and inspiration, and to every participant for your curiosity, dedication and time together.

At Pilates 6 Studio, we are delighted to create opportunities for high-quality Pilates education in Wrocław, bringing teachers together to learn, grow and exchange experience.

See you at our next workshops!
